This presentation is about a design project and will explain the client’s needs, the structure and the materials used in building construction.
This project is located on a hill. An interesting feature of the property is that it overlooks a mountain and a lake.
The owner of land, (i.e., the client) has decided to create a recreational space for this area, which should be used for most of the day and the evening The space will contain a restaurant that will also serve as a bar ordisco.
To meet the needs given by the client we decided to design a two-story restaurant, which serves as a restaurant during the day, and, at night, will be used as a disco bar. The ground floor has a patio that will be used for parking cars. A roof, accessible through the building entrance, will also have tables for use by the restaurant.
Upstairs there will be tables, a balcony that allows a view of the lake, and a storage area that will be used to keep some of the tables during the hours when used as a nightclub. This building will have a structural system of steel beams and columns that make up a system aporticado. The structural design of the building will be divided into volumes, a rectangle and a semicircle, built together. The rectangle will have the columns evenly distributed and parallel to the walls, while the semicircular columns will be distributed radially.
This building structures will use steel. Much of the facades will be glass walls to take advantage of visual aspects of the property, and concrete blocks will be used for the walls and slabs.
